Counterflow - Splash Fill - Douglas-fir Structure
If you're challenged by poor water quality, then this splash-filled Douglas-fir counterflow option may be the solution you've been seeking.
Because this tower uses splash fill, it's a great solution for environments that lend to poor water quality. Splash fill breaks up water and interrupts its vertical progress by forcing it to flow down several successive offset levels of parallel splash bars. By repeatedly breaking up the water's flow, "splashing" it into droplets and wetting the individual splash bars, maximum exposure to air can be achieved.
This tower's Douglas-fir structure also offers durability and a long service life. Its ability to perform under severe operating conditions and its resilience to chlorides, sulfates and hydrogen sulfide have earned it an established record of reliability in the cooling tower industry. However, Douglas-fir structures can be damaged if exposed to excessive levels of free chlorine or to prolonged temperatures of 140 degrees Fahrenheit or hotter. All wood is treated against decay.
